E was a sweet young lady who much like myself had experienced way to much trauma from an early age. She had heard me give my testimony about the first time I felt the spirit of God on a Live broadcast while driving home from a friends house. This friend I had met on the dating/social media site which I mentioned in my previous blog was also a friend of hers on the site.
You see I had joined the site in hopes of meeting somebody to date. I definitely found something way more than that on this site. I actually had joined some months before moving into my home on Maple in April of 2017. The day that E heard me on Live I was giving a talk about one of my life journeys when I realized that I had a soul and my connection to God.
This particular day I was driving from South Alabama with a new friend whom I met from a connection I had made on this site. His name was Nate and he lived about 45 minutes from me. We both had made friends with a lady we will call her R. R was somewhat of a tough exterior soul. She like most of the people I made connections with from this site had lived traumatic lives.
R had been in the military and her experiences and personality drew people to her as they did me. Nate and I went for the weekend to R’s house. She had a meet up for several of our mutual friends from the site. I was the eldest of the group and somewhat more religious than any of the others. I took on the “mother” role as I often had in my life. We played the board game Cards Against Humanity.
There was drinking, music, and lots of laughs. Everyone would get such a laugh when it got my turn because they knew the things I was saying in the game were definitely not topics I had discussed in a public situation like we were in. Everyone called me “mama Wendy”. My role in the group was like a mama bear. Most of all of these individuals had strained relationships with their own biological moms. My own stepsons had given me this name.
E asked me on that Live where I was sharing my personal experience of feeling God’s presence for the first time, if I could talk to her on the phone some time because she would like to know more. This was the beginning of some unusual experiences with the individuals I met from the dating/social media site. Little did I know this was all a part of my personal healing journey and my awakening.
